  • Jamie Feilden Chief Executive Officer

    Jamie Feilden

    Jamie graduated from the University of Edinburgh and taught History at Haling Manor School in Croydon from 2003. He worked in the Teach First office as part of the recruitment team from 2005 to 2008, focusing on the Jamie's Farm project during his holidays and weekends. Jamie now manages the farm and charity finance, and is committed to ensuring the Jamie's Farm experience is available to as many children as possible.

  • Tish Feilden Therapy Co-ordinator

    Tish Feilden

    Tish is a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist with over 30 years experience of working with children in schools, residential settings, clinical settings and the community. Tish began her career as a mainstream teacher and specialised in supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, using techniques such as art therapy. For the past 25 years she has been a psychotherapist for adolescents and families. Working with the Jamie's Farm team, Tish coordinates and leads on the therapy of each individual and group.

  • Ruth Carney Chief Operating Officer

    Ruth Carney

    After graduating from Warwick University with a degree in Philosophy and Literature, Ruth trained with Teach First in 2005, and taught Religious Education at Cranford Communitry College in Hounslow. She was 2006-07 Teach First Participant President, and holds an MA in Educational Research. Ruth is responsible for fundraising and the ongoing evaluation of Jamie's Farm to ensure the charity is able to maximise its impact.

  • Jane Brinson Visit Manager

    Jane Brinson

    Jane studied English Literature at Bristol University, before becoming an English teacher through the Teach First programme. She taught in London for two years at the Harris Academy at Peckham, and then the City of London Academy, Bermondsey. She then volunteered with VSO in Nigeria where she was working in a teacher training college. Jane works alongside every group, manages volunteers and makes sure Hill House Farm is a safe and nurturing environment for children.

  • Jake Curtis Visit Co-ordinator

    Jake Curtis

    Jake studied History at Cambridge University, before returning to his Birmingham roots to teach the subject at Kings Heath Boys' School. He has also enjoyed the opportunities he has had to teach overseas, in Palestine and Ghana, and is presently working towards a Masters in Educational Leadership. Extremely excited to be the newest member of the team in his role as Visit Co-ordinator, Jake is looking  forward to working in depth with students and schools to ensure they get the most from the Jamie's Farm experience, both during the week and, more importantly, when they return to their communities.

     

  • Tina Bailey Finance

    Tina Bailey

    Tina works with Jamie's Farm one day a week, and has a key role in organising the charity's finance. She also kindly babysits Hamish the farm dog regularly.

  • Doug Burcombe Farmer

    Doug Burcombe

    Doug ensures all the animals are happy on our growing farm. Currently we have 100 cattle, 100 sheep and 150 pigs all of which Doug tends to alongside children daily.

  • Kay Burcombe House Keeper

    Kay Burcombe

    Kay has been described by the children as the farm's fairy godmother. Kay ensures that Hill House Farm feels like home to children for the duration of their stay.

  • Steve Carnie Partner Farmer

    Steve Carnie

    Steve is a long standing family friend and an experienced large scale sheep farmer. Steve and his family open their home to the children we work with, providing positive role modelling and teaching students about the seasonal demands of being a farmer.

  • Charlotte Nicholson Farm Chef

    Charlotte Nicholson

    Charlotte is our stupendous chef who ensures that all children get involved with the cooking and are well catered for. Charlotte ensures our food is fresh and locally sourced. Her hobbies include dog training.

  • Wendy Kemp Charity Administrator

    Wendy Kemp

    After graduating from Swansea University with a degree in Modern Languages with Business Studies, Wendy worked in financial PR and recruitment for a few years, before becoming a Primary School Teacher. Wendy now manages the charity's office, helping to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes at Jamie's Farm.

  • Richard Willis Carpenter

    Richard Willis

    Retired businessman and former carpenter, Richard spends one day a week teaching basic carpentry skills. Children are helped to construct tables, benches and various timber objects that are used for practical purposes around the farm.

  • Ed Norris Volunteer

    Ed Norris

    Ed volunteers his time every Monday and works alongside Doug out and about on the farm. Ed is a local butcher.
