  • Jamie's Farm Charity Golf Day

    Friday 20th September 2013

Following last year's gloriously sunny and hugely successful Charity Golf Day at Cumberwell Park Golf Club, we are planning a similar event this September at the same beautiful venue.

The format will be changed slightly to an 18-hole Texas Scramble with teams of four players. We are proposing to play two different nine holes from last year.

The day's golf will be followed by our delicious Jamie's Farm hog roast supper.

For full details, or to enter a team, please call Richard Willis on 07970 171263 or email wendy@jamiesfarm.org.uk

Limited spaces available, so please book early!

  • Bread Workshop

     Saturday 1st June, 10.30am-4.30pm

We will be hosting another bread workshop, giving you the chance to come and learn how to make beautiful bread here at Hill House Farm. This full day workshop will cover:

    • Basic bread theory
    • Baking white, rye and wholemeal loaves, rolls, flatbreads, fougasse and focaccia

The class requires no previous experience and will be very hands on, giving you the chance to mix, knead and shape your own loaves, as well as taking them home to enjoy with your family. We will also be making a selection of delicious salads and dips, including herby cous cous, hummus (like you get it in the Middle East) and baba ganoush.

Only £60, inlcuding lunch and bread to take home. All proceeds will go to the charity.

This would make a great gift or a chance to just treat yourself!

Following on from the success of our first supper event last month we will be hosting a second Farm Feast, this time Italian style. This will involve sitting round a big communal table, eating great food, meeting new people, drinking and merriment. Rob will be cooking with his good friend and fantastic cook, Ottavia Mazzoni, from Bologna. They have come up with a fabulous and indulgent Menu Degustazione for your pleasure. This will be served here at Jamie's Farm in our converted barn. The menu will be:

Tartellette di ricotta e erbe selvatiche - Ricotta and seasonal wild herbs tartlets

Focaccia al rosmarino con i suoi antipasti - Rosemary and sea salt focaccia with a selection of antipasti

Nidi agli asparagi - Nests of fresh pasta with English asparagus

Risotto ai due agli con pancetta - Risotto with wild and roast garlic and Jamie's Farm pancetta

Branzino in crosta di sale grosso - Wild seabass baked in salt served with spinach

Semifreddo al caffe` con amaretti - Amaretto semifreddo

Coffee served with homemade truffles and soft amaretto biscuits

     Vegetarian options available on request

There is a suggested donation of £35 and it will be BYO booze. As always all proceeds will go to Jamie's Farm. It promises to be a very special evening so book your place early to avoid disappointment (the last event sold out in 48 hours). In order to make it a great opportunity to meet new people and create a really sociable atmosphere, we will initially be taking a maximum of 4 people per booking. Any questions please ask.
