Kids Company

Jamie’s Farm has developed an exciting partnership with Kids Company, a charity founded in 1996 to provide practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable young people.

The majority of the children who Kids Company works with suffer from severe emotional, behavioural and social difficulties, resulting from significant experiences of trauma and neglect. Many of them are ‘lone children’ living in chronic deprivation, with limited or no support from the adults in their family.
In 2009, Kids Company will bring ten groups of students to Jamie’s Farm

“Everybody had a really fabulous time and came away with some wonderful new experiences.

Special days like these are hugely important for the children we work with, and have a massive impact on their futures and on their aspirations. Thank you for all you have made possible.”

Camila Batmanghelidjh – Director, Kids Company

“We are indebted to you for showing us the numerous ways working on a farm can open up opportunities for their development and create possibilities emotionally, both intrinsically and extrinsically. I was so taken back by the transformation over the three days and the fresh outlook you all showed with the group.

You not only inspired the kids, but created some significant shifts in the adults’ understanding of themselves and the work they do, day in day out.”

Andy Gough, Trip Director

"The children came back with lots of pride, a new perspective on life, a taste of what it feels like to look after each other and the environment and be regarded as wonderful human beings who have an impact on others and the world."

Teach First

Teach First

Teach First is a ground breaking charity founded in 2002 which trains and places high achieving graduates into challenging schools in London, the North West, the Midlands and Yorkshire.

Many of the young people we work with attend Teach First schools, which are challenging inner city schools based on criteria whereby 30% or more pupils receive free school meals (FSM) and/or 25% or fewer students achieve five A*-C grades at GCSE level or equivalent.
